- SAN DIEGO RUSSIAN SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of SDRS is to preserve and celebrate the diversity of the San Diego community by helping Russian-speaking children to stay in touch with their cultural heritage.
- SAN DIEGO RUSSIAN SCHOOL FUNDAMENTAL STANDARD
Members of SDRS will maintain integrity, honor, responsible citizenship, and respect for the rights of others.
- STATEMENT OF DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
SDRS promotes an inclusive and compassionate community of students, faculty, staff, administrators, parents, trustees, and alumni. We honor and embrace diverse identities such as age, culture, ethnicity, family structure, gender and gender identity, group affiliation, national origin, physical and mental ability, race, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. Because diversity enriches the exchange of ideas, we foster a physically and emotionally safe environment in which different experiences, thoughts, and opinions are respectfully expressed and respectfully heard. Such an environment allows every individual to thrive in and contribute to our global community.
- ACADEMIC POLICIES
SDRS have established the following policies, which deal with the academic life of the students.
Students are expected to come to classes prepared and have textbooks, homework, pen/pencil and paper with them.
If a student misses 3 days of classes in a quarter, a special committee will review the absences for validity and either allow the student to continue to attend the SDRS or expel him or her.
Students can’t leave the classroom during class without permission from a teacher.
- STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR AND DISCIPLINARY POLICIES
Members of the SDRS will maintain integrity, honor, responsible citizenship, and respect for the rights of others. Attendance at the SDRS is a privilege, not a right. We expect that students of the SDRS will conduct themselves with dignity and in accordance with the high ideals of the Fundamental Standard as well as the specific laws of our government (city, state, and federal) at all times on- or off-campus. Conduct jeopardizing the good name of the SDRS, whether on- or off-campus, may be considered grounds for expulsion from the SDRS or other disciplinary action.
- ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
SDRS reserves the right to remove a Student at the sole discretion of SDRS administration at any time if, that Student’s progress, conduct, or influence on or off campus are not in keeping with SDRS standards. SDRS believes that a positive and constructive working relationship between the SDRS and the Student’s parents or guardian is essential to fulfillment of the SDRS Mission. Thus, the SDRS reserves the right to discontinue enrollment in the current year, or not to offer re-enrollment to the Student in subsequent year, if the SDRS, at its sole discretion, concludes that the actions of a parent or legal guardian prevent such a positive or constructive relationship from taking place or seriously interfere with the SDRS’s accomplishments of its educational purposes.
